What is spiritual direction?

​

A spiritual director assists people in their efforts to open themselves up to and discern the way(s) that Spirit is showing up in their lives, figuring out what spiritual practices will work best for their efforts to nurture and grow the spiritual aspect of themselves, in their relationships, in their work, and in their efforts to create a better world for themselves and others.

What spiritual direction looks like can vary from person to person, and from session to session. It can involve

• talking about what's going on in your life or in the world around you, and what you are noticing, feeling or wondering about it

• exploring different spiritual practices and what your experiences with them have been

• articulating your experience of the Spirit, the Sacred, Mystery, Hope

• developing a spiritual practice and the support and accountability that you need to sustain your practice

Individual sessions in spiritual direction are often about an hour in length and occur monthly, but these details can be varied depending upon your individual needs.
